In an effort to support solar energy, numerous grants and resources have been made accessible to help your transition to solar.

Alberta

Seniors Home Adaptation and Repair Program (SHARP):

It covers repairs, adaptations, and renovations including energy efficiency improvements. Eligible seniors can apply for a low-interest home equity loan with the Government of Alberta 

Canada Green Energy Grant

CGEA is offering up to $5000 grant to eligible solar projects to assist homeowners in Calgary and most parts of Alberta with energy-efficient retrofits. 

Banff Solar Rebate

The town of Banff is encouraging residents to install solar systems to contribute to the clean and renewable electricity. Both residential and commercial systems will be able to apply the solar PV rebate.

Medicine Hat New Homes Incentive Program

The program is designed to foster the development of energy-efficient homes, this initiative also highlights the advantages of incorporating solar PV installations.

Sturgeon County: Solar Power Production Incentive

The benefit period can last up to 10 years, providing an exemption of up to 80% on the yearly property tax increases.

Alberta Municipal Solar Program Round 3 (expected to launch in 2024) 

Funding will be available on a first-come first-served basis for new solar PV systems installed on municipally-owned facilities or land. Stay with us to get the latest update on the program.

Canada Greener Homes Loan

Federal government is offering interest-free loans of up to $40,000 with a 10-year repayment term to assist you in undertaking major home retrofits.

Accelerated investment incentive

Full expensing for clean energy investments allowing businesses to immediately write off the full cost of specified clean energy equipment

Community Buildings Retrofit

Most Canadian municipal governments can be eligible for a maximum of $5 million per project. Up to 25% as a grant and the remainder as a loan.

Sustainable Affordable Housing

Financing or grant up to 80% to supports municipal, non-profit and cooperative housing providers to improve the energy efficiency and affordability of existing and new affordable housing units

Community Efficiency Financing

A grant of up to 80% eligible cost, or a maximum loan of 10 million can be offered to the Canadian municipal governments or organizations to improve the energy efficiency.

Manitoba

Home Solar Rebate Program

Manitoba Hydro is offering a maximum of 10kW and $5000 to eligible homes with in-grid solar PV system.

Business Solar Rebate Program

Business with in-grid solar PV system can get a rebate of $0.50 per direct current (DC) watt.

Community Energy Efficiency Program

Efficiency Manitoba will cover 80% of the advocate‘s salary, with an annual limit of $40,000 to develop and implement community energy efficiency plans .
